Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Kim.

Steve, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Through my wife’s passion we started Heaven and Earth Collection, currently I am doing the majority of the day to day and my wife is just the face of the company because of injuries. Until she gets better I am leading the company, but my wife and my story goes like this.

I’m a professional fashion apparel designer and worked for many high- end brands in the fashion industry. Working for many companies over the years, my passion got stronger. I was disappointed with many leaders that I worked for. I realized that they were not good leaders and that they only had the authority because of their position. I wanted to become a great leader in the fashion industry and someone who could be trusted and respected. Our dream of owning our own business has now becoming a reality.

I remember watching Forest Gump and when he opened up the chocolate box and talked about how life can be full of surprises because we will never know what we are going to get. I was not a professional jewelry designer, but somehow a path opened up in this direction and I took that road. In the middle of planning the launch of our own apparel business, one of my church friends invited me to her jewelry party, and from that point my passion shifted. From that day forward, I never turned back. I wanted to design jewelry pieces that were high quality, trendy, classic, and yet affordable.

Through many years of trial and error, we were finally able to put my proof of concept into reality. My motto is “Never give up!” If you have the motivation, will, and determination to get back up after you’ve fallen many times, you can make your dream happen.

Has it been a smooth road?
No it was not smooth. We had more experience in apparel and no experience in jewelry. We went through many hardships meeting the wrong vendors that took advantage of our lack of experience in this industry. We poured our life saving into this and still failed but managed to start up again and renew our plan and strategy.

So the road was very bumpy and now we are in a place where we know how to move forward.

We are a custom jewelry company. Each of my fashion jewelry pieces are custom designed and hand-made with different personalities in mind. Now, we are proud to announce that Heaven and Earth Collection is a blend of classic and modern styles that embody the American lifestyle. Heaven and Earth Collection is dedicated to enhancing and advancing American fashion with its unique design and high-quality materials. We are passionate about our customers and strive to create fashion pieces that accentuate their existing personal styles — and enable them to explore new ones. We assemble our fashion jewelry in the USA and it is 100% custom hand-made.

We are most proud of being able to share our business with our employees who we call our consultants, we are proud to be able to give jobs to stay at home mothers taking care of their children, and still can also be able to financially help their families, and not miss those family memories that a normal office 8-5 job can take away.

What sets us apart is the offering of jobs to those people that need flexibility in their schedule like the stay at home parents, and we contribute to charities that help children and struggling families.

Likes: Diversity in people, culture, food. Opportunity for business.

Dislikes: Traffic, cost of living.
